I am a Chicago-based designer specializing in lettering, packaging, and identity. Strategic thinker with proven experience creating deliverables for start-ups, non-profits, and large companies. I’m passionate about a humanist approach to design that pushes boundaries, challenges the audience, and incorporates individual style.
In my free time, I like to sketch letterforms and experiment with printmaking. I also enjoy binge-watching anime, building Gundam model kits, and figure drawing.
My design value
- Traditional design principles are a solid foundation for new graphic designers. However, I think we should break away from that foundation rather than following one blueprint. I do this by experimenting with impractical designs and pushing the boundaries on function and form. Designers should take risks when it comes to design - we’ve become too complacent by settling with what already works.
- What is a good design? To me, good designs are the ones that can clearly showcase the designer’s intention. In addition, good designs should also demonstrate the designer’s style, personality, and their perspective on the matter.
